Biofest Invest is a premier spring event connecting Texas bioscience companies with investors from across the nation. This day-long event features expert speakers, insightful panels, and networking opportunities with organizations that support bioscience entrepreneurs. Selected companies will present their pitch decks to investors, fostering valuable connections both in-person and virtually.

What is Biofest Invest
Biofest Invest is an annual spring event that brings together potential investors from across the nation and Texas bioscience companies seeking investment funding, while sharing best practices, connections, and valuable advice. The day-long event includes relevant speakers and panelists on valuable topics relevant to bioscience companies. Organizations that provide support to bioscience entrepreneurs will also be on-site to provide information.

Our speaker will share compelling stories of women who were once underestimated yet went on to achieve the extraordinary—TEDtalk style. Their resilience, determination, and breakthrough achievements have shaped her own leadership journey, and she’ll reveal how their examples continue to fuel her drive today.
2026 Biofest Invest
Join us for the 6th Annual BioFest Invest Startup Conference and Pitch Competition. This spring event brings together leading Texas-based early‑stage startups, investors, insightful panel discussions, an engaging expo showcase, and a networking happy hour. Pitch applications are due by February 15, and early‑bird registration is available through February 28.
2026 Biofest Days Ecosystem Industry Tour
As part of Biofest Days, select biomedical facilities across San Antonio will open their doors for an exclusive behind‑the‑scenes industry tour. Guests will have the opportunity to explore some of the region’s strongest biomedical assets, gain insight into cutting‑edge research and operations, and learn more about the depth and diversity of San Antonio’s biomedical ecosystem. Lunch will be provided. Seating is limited and advance registration is required.
Undergraduate Research Forum
The Tech & Science Undergraduate Research Forum is held each spring in the Welch Hall Grand Concourse. Hundreds of individual undergraduates and team research presentations are showcased, including innovative student work from the Freshman Research Initiative, Impact Lab, and Hello Maker Studio. Join us on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 12-4:30 pm for research findings and scientific discoveries at the largest research open house on campus.

BioAustinCTX Announces Leadership Transition
Scott Collins, PhD, has transitioned from his role as President at the end of February after more than a decade of leadership supporting the growth of the Central Texas life sciences ecosystem. BioAustinCTX thanks Dr. Collins for his service and leadership and looks forward to continued collaboration as the organization enters its next phase.

BioAustinCTX Seeking Membership & Marketing Coordinator
BioAustinCTX is seeking a highly motivated, tech-savvy, and results-driven Marketing & Membership Coordinator to manage our event planning and execution, membership engagement, marketing, and community-building efforts. This role requires a proactive self-starter that can organize and execute membership events, manage back office operations (web, social media, accounting system, membership renewals), and task and coordinate volunteers to accomplish BioAustinCTX projects. This individual has the ability to work independently while driving measurable impact.
The ideal candidate is a dynamic communicator and digital strategist who excels at building relationships and knows how to leverage technology to expand audience reach and engagement. They will be critical in growing BioAustinCTX’s presence within the life sciences ecosystem, ensuring that our members stay engaged, informed, and connected.

BioAustinCTX is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the life sciences ecosystem in Austin and Central Texas by fostering connections, collaboration, and industry growth. We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Executive Director to lead our organization, expand membership, and elevate BioAustinCTX as the region’s premier life sciences industry network.
This role requires a seasoned leader with deep expertise in the life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical technology, or healthcare innovation sectors. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in industry development, business strategy, sponsorship and stakeholder engagement, with a proven ability to scale sponsorship and membership organizations and drive impact.
This is a part-time position transitioning to a full-time position.
