BioAustinCTX is excited to bring speakers that represents the success of Life Science growth in the Central Texas area.

Dr. Brian Windsor currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Rein Therapeutics, a publicly traded biopharmaceutical company developing therapies for serious lung conditions. He started as the first employee in 2013 and took the company public through a merger in 2023. During the time at Rein, he spun out technology into a separate company, TFF Pharmaceuticals, and he took TFF public in October 2019. From September 2019 to March 2022, Dr. Windsor served on the TFF board of directors and also as the Chief Scientific Officer.

He has been involved in the startup, development, and funding of sixteen life science companies. He has authored numerous scientific publications, is listed as an inventor on multiple patents, and is a speaker at scientific and medical conferences.

Dr. Windsor earned his B.S. and Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from The University of Texas at Austin, where his work on mechanisms of multi-drug resistance resulted in patented technology. He currently serves as an advisor to Dell Medical School’s Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. 

John Joyoprayitno is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Alafair Biosciences, bringing over 20 years of leadership and entrepreneurial experience, primarily in the medical device industry. Under his leadership, Alafair has achieved over 100% year-over-year growth, earned recognition on the Inc. 5000 list for three consecutive years, and been honored as a Best Workplace by multiple publications. Joyoprayitno has also been named among the top CEOs in his field.

Throughout his career, he has founded and led companies across healthcare and other sectors, consistently focused on launching transformative technologies, driving commercialization, and scaling operations. At Alafair, he is building a category-defining company in bioresorbable medical devices by developing and acquiring solutions that advance soft tissue healing and motion preservation. His leadership emphasizes innovation, strategic growth, and long-term value creation for patients, providers, and investors.

Joyoprayitno holds a Master of Science in Technology Commercialization from the McCombs School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology, both from the University of Texas at Austin.

About the Venue

Biobash will be hosted at the outdoor Paseo at the beautiful Highland Campus of Austin Community College, home of our gold level sponsor, the ACC Bioscience Incubator. The Paseo is a large vibrant, open-air courtyard with ample space to view the state-of-the-art Highland Campus and renovated neighborhood. Brief tours of some of the campus highlights will also be provided, including the Health Science Simulation Center, where ACC trains patient care students in a real hospital environment that includes high fidelity patient simulators. The Bioscience Incubator and the Impact Lab, ACC’s prototyping incubator will also be available to visit.

In the case of inclement weather, we will move just inside to an event space where there is adequate space to convene and experience the renovated Highland Mall.

Parking is available and free for your convenience at the ACC parking garage. Please follow the signs from the garage for a short walk to the event.
