Membership & Marketing Coordinator
Location: Austin, TX
Commitment: Part Time 15-20 hours per week (flexible schedule, remote work)
Compensation: $32 – $38/hr
Overview
BioAustinCTX is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the life sciences ecosystem in Austin and Central Texas by fostering connections, collaboration, and industry growth.
BioAustinCTX is seeking a highly motivated, tech-savvy, and results-driven Marketing & Membership Coordinator to manage our event planning and execution, membership engagement, marketing, and community-building efforts. This role requires a proactive self-starter that can organize and execute membership events, manage back office operations (web, social media, accounting system, membership renewals), and task and coordinate volunteers to accomplish BioAustinCTX projects. This individual has the ability to work independently while driving measurable impact.
The ideal candidate is a dynamic communicator and digital strategist who excels at building relationships and knows how to leverage technology to expand audience reach and engagement. They will be critical in growing BioAustinCTX’s presence within the life sciences ecosystem, ensuring that our members stay engaged, informed, and connected.
Key Responsibilities
Membership Management & Engagement
- Execute a comprehensive membership strategy to attract, retain, and provide value to life sciences professionals, startups, and industry leaders.
- Help build and maintain relationships with new and existing members, ensuring an engaging and seamless membership experience.
- Maintain accurate membership records, track renewals, and oversee CRM/database management.
- Work collaboratively with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to identify and implement creative strategies to drive membership growth.
Marketing & Communications
- Own and execute digital marketing efforts, including website management, email marketing, and social media.
- Develop compelling content that tells the story of BioAustinCTX, spotlights member achievements, and showcases industry trends.
- Create and manage high-impact campaigns that drive engagement, visibility, and community growth.
- Use data and analytics to optimize communication strategies and ensure measurable results.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all marketing and communication efforts, working independently while collaborating with leadership and stakeholders.
Program & Event Support
- Assist in planning and executing networking events, educational workshops, and industry roundtables.
- Support sponsorship outreach and develop strategies to increase attendance, engagement, and industry partnerships.
- Identify and implement innovative engagement tactics to maximize participation and impact.
Qualifications
- BA or AB in a relevant field
- A minimum of 4+ years of experience in membership management, marketing, communications, or nonprofit administration.
- Energetic, highly motivated, and results-oriented with a passion for building connections in the life sciences community.
- Exceptional self-starter who thrives working independently and takes full ownership of responsibilities.
- Strong background in digital marketing, content creation, and audience engagement.
- Proficiency in CRM systems, email marketing platforms, social media management, and analytics tools.
- Excellent writing, storytelling, and editorial skills, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences.
- Highly tech-savvy, comfortable adopting and leveraging new tools and platforms to drive engagement and efficiency.
Preferred: Experience in the life sciences, biotech, pharma, medtech, or healthcare industry.
