SPOTLIGHT

Long time BioAustinCTX member and supporter, Nancy Patterson, is celebrating the release of Innovation in Nephrology, Elsevier Academic Press’s latest volume in the innovation series. She is the Series Editor for the five volumes and author of several chapters, including Value Analysis, Ensuring Your Innovation is Approved for Facility Use, and How GPOs Drive Revenue. This volume includes 45 chapters written by clinicians and life science business experts. It delivers insight to entrepreneurs and investors alike for prioritizing inventions with the most robust trajectory for successful commercialization.

Chapters provide a comprehensive resource for leading clinicians, investors, researchers, and entrepreneurs, guiding them through a clear process for identifying, inventing, and implementing new solutions. Case studies on innovative products worldwide include successes and failures, practical advice, and end-of-chapter ‘Getting Started’ sections encouraging readers to learn from real projects and apply important lessons to their work. In short, this book will interest entrepreneurs with good ideas for an invention but seek insight on bringing it to the bedside.

This is the second in the 5-book Innovation Series that Elsevier has published, for which I am the Series Editor and chapter author. Other clinical volumes include Anesthesiology (ISBN: 9780128183816), which was released last year, and Emergency Medicine, which is under development.
